2015 Annual Family Stream Day

Pick up Passport at the first Station when you arrive. Visit all Stations to get stamped and complete your passport.

On Sunday, October 18 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm, the 14th annual "Family Stream Day" will be held at Claude Moore Park in Sterling. This year's event is co-hosted by the Loudoun Environmental Stewardship Alliance (LESA) and Loudoun Watershed Watch and will offer a number of family-friendly hands-on activities that relate to the health of county streams. Activity booths will be outside if weather permits and inside in the Pavalion and Caretaker's House if weather is inclement or too windy so prepare to stop by rain or shine and have a great time. The day's events will include:
  • Outdoor nature walks (weather permitting)
  • Macroinvertebrate (stream/pond critters) collection and identification
  • Soil erosion activities
  • Tree identification
  • Stormwater management
  • Water quality testing
  • Watersheds and finding your watershed address
  • Water conservation
